Technical questions and solutions for soft touch feeling paint
Question 1:
Phenomenon:the surface of coating is wet,not dry,
Reason analysis: 1)the dosage of curing agent is not enough
2)the dosage of drier is not enough
3)solvent contains water
4)baking time is not enough
Solutions: 1)increase the dosage of curing agent
2)increase the dosage of drier
3)use PU grade solvent
4)prolong baking time in oven
Question 2:
Phenomenon:the coating do not have good adhesion on substrate
Reason analysis: 1)on the substrate there are too much impurites
2)the primer is too tough
3)the primer is too dry
Solutions: 1)clean the surface of substrate,and paint the primer
2)apply suitable primer
3)when the primer drying up to 70%, spraying soft touch paint immediately,you don’t have to wait the primer dried completely,
Question 3:
Phenomenon:the coating is not that smooth
Reason analysis: 1)no addition of handfeel additive
2)using matting powder of bigger diameter
3)the elastic resin is not that soft and smooth
Solutions: 1)add our handfeel additive such as A3,083,087
2)using matting powder of smaller diameter, such as OK520
3)using elastic resin of good smooth performance such as our Softstar series resin 32#

Phenomenon:the coating is too tough,
Reason analysis: 1)the coating is too tough
Solutions: 1)increase dosage of elastic resin or lower dosage of curing agent
Question 5:
Phenomenon:the pot life of soft touch feeling paint is too short
Reason analysis: 1)too fast drying speed, more dosage of drier
Solutions: 1)lower dosage of drier
2)using elastic resin with suitable drying speed.
